▪️ The Gospel According to Luke 1:10 ▪️
Luke.1:9-10
According to the custom of the priesthood, his lot fell to burn incense when he went into the temple of the Lord. And the whole multitude of the people was praying outside at the hour of incense.
They were praying. This fully corresponded to the service of incense.
“Let my prayer be set before You as incense, The lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.” (Ps.141:2).
Do we realize this when we come to prayer and speak to God the Father in the name of His Beloved Son?
The believers outside understood the solemnity of this moment of prayer, and the priest Zacharias understood it even more. What was he praying about? We can suppose that an important part of his prayer was the long-awaited coming of the Messiah and the establishment of His Kingdom. Could he suppose that on that very day he would receive an answer to his prayers about the long-awaited Messiah?
“Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.” (Matt.6:10).
