“And he will turn many of the children of Israel to the Lord their God…”
 
It would seem, what kind of mission is this — to turn believers to God, especially if He is their God? If they are the children of Israel, they belong to the true faith of the fathers and have great advantages. “…Who are Israelites, to whom pertain the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the service of God, and the promises” (Romans 9:4). Should they be turned to the Lord God?
 
Was it not necessary to go at once to the Gentiles who did not know God, to open for them the way to life? But no, the message about preparing the way for Christ was addressed exactly to Israel. Some of them accepted it, but the majority, unfortunately, did not. “Many of the children of Israel” — that means, not all.
 
It is interesting, do today’s Christians also need to be turned to the Lord God?
