▪️ Reflection on the words of Luke 1:17b ▪️

“To turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just.”

A difficult task was entrusted by God to John the Baptist. How to return the hearts of fathers to children? How to restore true faith in Israelite society? Perhaps they even went to the temple together, but did not truly worship God. Political views could not unite them, because God wanted them to have one heart in worshiping Him.

The angel repeated Malachi’s prophecy: “Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet Before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord. And he will turn The hearts of the fathers to the children, And the hearts of the children to their fathers, Lest I come and strike the earth with a curse” (Mal.4:5-6).

How to “turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just”? It is possible through the Word of God and the work of the Holy Spirit.
